Dr. Shaofeng Jiang joined Peking University in June 2021 and is currently an assistant professor at Center on Frontiers of Computing Studies, Peking University. He obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Hong Kong in 2017. He was a postdoctoral researcher in the Weizmann Institute of Science, and he worked as an assistant professor at Aalto University before joining Peking University. He was awarded a nomination prize of MSRA PhD fellowship, and a prize for outstanding postdoctoral research output in the Weizmann Institute of Science. His research interest is theoretical computer science, with a focus on algorithms for massive datasets and their applications in machine learning. His research has been published in various top venues including FOCS, SICOMP, SODA, ICML and NeurIPS. Currently, his focus is on the research and teaching in theoretical computer science and foundations of data science. He aims to produce high quality research, educate next generations of research and engineering talents in the area, and to improve the international visibility of the research center by maintaining an extensive international collaboration network.
