On May 8, 2026, Omani representatives from Majan Gulf Investment LLC, a company that includes members and partners from to the Omani Royal Family, including Mr. Hamed Saif Hamed Al Busaidi, Mr. Sami Fathi Said Ayedeh, Ms. Gu Jingyuan, and Mr. Liu Jianguo, led a delegation on a visit to the School of Computer Science at Peking University. The delegation was received by the School’s leadership and held discussions focused on China–Oman higher education cooperation, industry-academia partnerships, and future collaboration opportunities in technology and artificial intelligence.

During the meeting, the School’s representatives introduced their research strengths across artificial intelligence, software, hardware, big data, and computing infrastructure. They also highlighted the School’s international cooperation programs and expressed their willingness to welcome outstanding Omani students and researchers for academic exchange and study opportunities.

【Speech by Prof. Hu Zhenjiang】

Ms. Gu Jingyuan explained that the visit was guided by the goals of Oman Vision 2040, emphasizing the Sultanate’s strong focus on higher education, talent development, industrial transformation, and advanced research capabilities. She noted Oman’s interest in building stronger cooperation with world-class universities, particularly in the field of artificial intelligence.

Prof. Yang Tong presented the School’s latest research achievements and industrial collaborations in areas such as artificial intelligence and large language models, while also sharing practical experiences related to industrial applications of advanced technologies.

Mr. Hamed Saif Hamed Al Busaidi stated that Oman has strong human talent and an open environment for international cooperation. He expressed hope that collaboration with the School of Computer Science would contribute to the growth of Oman’s digital economy and high-tech industries. Mr. Sami Fathi Said Ayedeh further stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation between academia and industry to support Oman’s technological transformation in artificial intelligence.

Both sides also held in-depth discussions regarding potential cooperation in international education programs, joint scientific research initiatives, and high-level talent development projects. The meeting concluded with mutual interest in establishing a long-term and comprehensive partnership in the field of computer science and advanced technologies.

The visit further strengthened exchanges between the School of Computer Science at Peking University and institutions and industries in the Middle East and Belt and Road regions, laying a strong foundation for future collaboration in research, innovation, and talent development.
