He has led multiple national and ministerial-level research projects, including: National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars (Category A), National Key Research and Development Program of China, National Key R&D Program “Intergovernmental” International Cooperation Project, Joint Funds of the Ministry of Education, research projects from National Natural Science Foundation of China and Beijing International Key Collaboration Project. He has received the First Prize and Second Prize of the Natural Science Award of the Ministry of Education, has been selected for the Chinese Academy of Sciences Innovative Interdisciplinary Team and honored as a Chinese Science and Technology Innovation Figure in Intelligent Computing, serves as a committee member of the Bioinformatics Committee for China Computer Federation, Chinese Association of Automation and Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence.
